Elan ski outlet – Slovenian craftsmanship since 1945

Elan is a Slovenian ski brand from Begunje na Gorenjskem, founded in 1945. The company will celebrate its 80th anniversary in 2025, but Elan is best known in ski history for two inventions that changed the entire sport. In 1993, Elan introduced the SCX as the first ski manufacturer with a parabolic sidecut – the geometry we now know as the "carving ski". Since then, almost every alpine ski in the world has built on that Slovenian invention.

The second big step: Amphibio in 2010 – the first asymmetrical ski with rocker on the inside and camber on the outside. As a result, a left and right ski are literally different and the ski turns and grips more intuitively. In our outlet you will mainly find Wingman (men's all-mountain), Wildcat (women's all-mountain), the Primetime racing carvers and the unique folding Voyager - all new, unused, complete with binding at greatly reduced prices.

Men's all-mountain skis – Wingman

The Wingman series (76C, 78C, S8C, 82) is Elan's most popular all-mountain series for men. With Amphibio profile, ideal for the slopes and an excursion off the slopes. Often supplied with PS or EL binding.

All-mountain skis women – Wildcat & Element

The Wildcat W series (76, 78, S8) is the women's version: narrower waist, lighter core. Element 78 LS is the more accessible entry-level model. Includes LS (Light Shift) binding.

Race carving skis – Primetime & Ace

The Primetime line (No1 to No5 + 22/55+) runs from full-race to comfortable carving. Ace SLX, SLX Pro and Speed ​​Magic Pro are full-on racing skis for slalom and giant slalom.

Voyager – folding travel ski

The Voyager is the world's first serious folding alpine ski. Screw two parts together with the supplied wrench and you have a complete 154 cm ski. Fits in a backpack/suitcase – perfect for travel.

Elan technology: what do they stand for?

Elan has been investing in its own R&D for 80 years. This is the technology that you see in almost all outlet models.

Amphibio (asymmetrical profile)

Elan's patent: on the inside of the ski the profile has rocker (up), on the outside it has camber. As a result, the ski automatically "reads" the difference between toe-side and heel-side and turns/grips more intuitively. Left and right ski are different.

Parabolic Sidecut

The modern carving shape: narrow in the middle, wider at tip and tail. First launched by Elan in 1993. Allows carving without having to push off the ski.

TNT (Truly New Technology)

Vario-flex construction that varies the stiffness over the length of the ski. Smoother in tip/tail (for turning), stiffer in the middle (for grip). Standard in Wingman and Wildcat.

U-Flex

Lighter flex construction making the ski easier to control at lower speeds. Especially on the entry-level Element and Wildcat entry-level versions.

WoodShell Construction

Wood core technology in which different types of wood are combined for maximum damping. Found on the higher Primetime and Wingman models.

PowerSpine / RST Sidewall

Longitudinal reinforcement of the ski (carbon or titanium) for torsional stiffness at speed. Standard in the racing-oriented Ace and Primetime lines.

Is Elan a good ski brand?

Yes. Founded in Slovenia in 1945, Elan has changed the ski industry twice: in 1993 with the first parabolic carving sidecut (the SCX) and in 2010 with the first asymmetric Amphibio ski. Elan skis are known for smooth, intuitive control and have been ranked in the top 3 all-mountain categories by ski testing for years.

What do the letters behind an Elan ski (PS, LS, C, W) mean?

C = Amphibio version with asymmetric profile. W = ladies model (Women). PS = "Power Shift" or "Power System" binding (men). LS = "Light Shift" binding (women - lighter setting). The number (76, 78, S8) is the width under the foot in mm – higher numbers for softer snow, lower for hard piste.

What is Amphibio and how does it benefit me?

Amphibio is Elan's patent: the ski has rocker on the inside (the side towards your other ski) and camber on the outside. So left and right skis are different. In practice, this makes turning smoother (rocker turns in easily) while maintaining carving grip on the outer edge. Particularly noticeable for recreational to intermediate skiers: less tiring, more intuitive turns.

Recreational men's piste skier: Wingman 78C (the all-rounder). Same for ladies: Wildcat 78 C LS. For those who want more piste: Primetime No4 or No5 Black Edition. How do you fold the Elan Voyager?

The Voyager consists of two parts that are attached to each other with a supplied key. For transport, loosen the key and you have two short pieces – together ~70 cm instead of a full 154 cm. Fits easily in a backpack or large suitcase. On the mountain you can put it back together in ~30 seconds.

Are the Elan skis new in your outlet?

Yes. All Elan skis and accessories are 100% new, unused, with the original Elan warranty and binding fitment where applicable. Previous seasonal models or selected lots – no second hand. Technically identical to the current Elan collection, only color or graphics may differ.
